Redpill Linpro is building a central register for the EU’s digital identity wallet on behalf of PTS
Redpill Linpro, a digital society developer and open-source specialist, has been awarded the contract to support the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS) in the development of the Swedish register of trusted parties for the European digital identity wallet (EUDI Wallet).
The EU’s revised eIDAS Regulation requires all EU countries to ensure that every natural and legal person within the Union has access to a digital identity wallet. The wallet is designed to enable users to securely access both public and private services, both online and offline. It will also enable users to store and share digital documents, as well as create legally binding signatures.
For the ecosystem surrounding the new wallet to function, a register of so-called relying parties (the entities and services that are to integrate with the wallet). This register is a central part of Sweden’s implementation of the eIDAS Regulation.
Redpill Linpro was awarded the contract to help implement this. This is a comprehensive undertaking in which Redpill Linpro is providing an agile development team covering the entire chain, from development right through to deployment. The delivery includes the functions, services and expertise required for implementation, including the production of documentation and support for the future management of the system.
– Earning the trust of PTS confirms the strong demand for our expertise in building secure and mission-critical digital infrastructure. EUDI Wallet is a crucial step for Europe’s digitalisation, and through our agile team we are ensuring a modern solution where security is at the heart of the project, says Annika Löfstrand Ianni, Region Manager at Redpill Linpro CoreTech.
